A little distraction...
I've never had a dog before. We were a family of felines. My grandfather always kept cats to help with the rodents and birds around the hens and the vegetable patch. So when our puppy came along, admittedly I didn't have a clue. Also, although he is 'our' puppy, the men in the family sold me the idea of having a puppy as being 'their' puppy. But with me working from home and everyone else out the door at work and school, the responsibility of caring, training and feeding ultimately fell onto me.
Geez he makes me laugh. And what a distraction. This is one of the favourite times of the day. Unleashing him at our local park literally amongst the pigeons - in our case, it's the Galah's. I wonder if they tease him in their own bird language, or laugh as he tries to jump high. But if you look at his face, its pure joy, he doesn't want to hurt them, he just wants to play. And as he sets chase, the birds simply fly around in formation and settle back onto the ground.
I didn't want to be that gal who talks about her puppy...but for stress relief and forced fresh air, it's a wonderful and loving example. Little Loki...what a great story idea...!
